The Dock at Inveraray
Glowering storm clouds hover over the harbour at the Scottish village of Inveraray on this November morning.
Inveraray sits on Loch Fyne, which, unlike inland lakes, connects to the sea, off Scotland’s west coast.
It is the longest of Scotland’s sea lochs.
The “Vital Spark” is of the Puffer class of vessels, whose size was dictated by the need to navigate Scotland’s Crinan Canal. She was built in 1944 as the “Eilean Eisdale,” but was re-registered in 2006 as the “Vital Spark of Glasgow,” named after maritime stories by Inveraray writer Neil Munro who wrote about “Para Handy,” captain of the puffer “Vital Spark.”

Love the view, when I was there the first time there was only one such ship anchored.You captured mist and half-light, recreating a very Scottish mood...!
