Partners in Rumble-Grumble
Heavy haulers at rest - but not for long - these two GE AC44CW diesel electric locomotives are on the
point of a very long train of coal hoppers from Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia, bound for the
CSX coal trans-loading facility at Curtis Bay, Baltimore.
At present, these powerful machines, sitting on their massive six-axle trucks, are awaiting orders to
complete their journey, as well as a fresh crew taking over their controls, at Brooklyn in south Baltimore.
Meantime, they entertain the photographer with a contented rumble-grumble-rumble-grumble-rumble-grumble.
